QICDRC has welcomed a delegation from De Montfort University – UK; the visit is part of their training trip to the State of Qatar to learn about the nature of the judicial system in Qatar.
The delegation attended a seminar that was given by Dr. Zain Sharar, senior legal counsel, and Mr. Christopher Grout, the Registrar at the Court, where they briefed the delegation about the jurisdiction of the Court and Regulatory Tribunal, their procedures and how the cases are being managed and progressed. Moreover, Mr. Grout gave a short brief on the role of the Qatar International Court pursuant to the provisions of the new Arbitration Law No. 2 of 2017.
Later on, the delegation had a tour of the Court’s facilities where they were introduced to the newly launched e case management system ‘ eCourt ‘ , and given a demonstration as to how cases before the Court can be heard entirely virtually.
At the end, Prof. Keith, head of the delegation, thanked the Court for the warm welcome and the valuable insights they received during their visit.
