Gulf News (United Arab Emirates), 29 September 2015: Qatar’s Penal Code has been amended to make it an offence for pictures of people killed or injured in accidents to be taken and posted on social media without consent.
The amendment was introduced after several studies were conducted following complaints by people who said they were affected by the unwanted invasion of privacy.
Lawyers have said that the legislation needed to be updated following significant changes since it was enacted in 2004.
