QICDRC receives delegation from HKBU

February 02 2017
The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (“QICDRC”) has officially welcomed a delegation from the College of Law and Public Policy at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (“HKBU”).
The delegation, led by the Dean of the College of Law and Public Policy, Professor Clinton Francis, met with the QICDRC CEO, Faisal Al Sahouti, and Registrar Christopher Grout.
The delegation first discussed matters relating to the Court including as to its jurisdiction, procedures, case management, witness evidence and enforcement. They then went on to talk about the nature of the JD programme at HKBU, stressing its comparative law elements which, it is hoped, will produce more internationally rounded graduates. The delegation ended their visit with a tour of the QICDRC facilities culminating in a presentation in the courtroom.
Speaking after the event the Registrar said, “The QICDRC was delighted to host such an impressive delegation from HKBU’s College of Law and Public Policy. The discussion we had-both about the Court and the nature of the JD programme- was both informative and insightful. We very much look forward to forging a strong working relationship with the University and will assist wherever we are able to ensure that students are exposed to the practical elements of legal education which are essential for the modern day lawyer.”
