In its latest edition, the MENA Business Law Review has conducted an interview with QICDRC CEO, and Scientific Board Member of the MENA Business Law Review, Faisal Al Sahouti. In anticipation of the enactment of a new QFC Law, the CEO was asked about a number of new initiatives including:
The expanded jurisdiction the new QFC Law will provide to the Court, permitting parties from all over the world to opt-in to the jurisdiction of the Qatar International Court; and
The enhanced ADR offerings that will come about as a result of the new law, including improved processes and procedures governing arbitration, with the intention of making the QICDRC the leading arbitration hub in the GCC; and
The new QFC Law is highly anticipated as it will strengthen the QFC and QICDRC’s positions as leading financial and legal institutions in the GCC.
