The visit came as part of the QLC’s local business visits, which gives participants the chance to understand more about the unique organisations and mega projects in Qatar.
Commenting on the importance of initiatives such as these for the development of future leaders QFC Authority CEO Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida stated: “We are pleased to host students from the Rising Leader Programme and give them an inside look into our entity and how we operate. The development of human capital is a vital component to a diversified and strong economy and we continue looking at different methods to help develop the local talent pool.”
He continued: “Over the years the QFC has sent some of its upcoming leaders to the QLC to further develop and enhance their skillset to meet the challenges of today’s business environment, this is a clear example of the importance of the Rising Leader Programme in establishing future leaders for the private sector. I am confident that each and every one of you will positively contribute to our countries well-being and look forward to seeing you lead us towards the goals set out in the QNV2030.”
QICDRC CEO Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti commented: “QICDRC is a world-class specialized Qatari Court which has jurisdiction to hear civil and commercial disputes for more than 300 companies worth over 75QAR billion at QFC. Our vision at QICDRC is that when the new law is finalised and approved, everybody from the local community to business entities will be able to see firsthand the impact it will have once utilised and enforced, making Qatar an international hub for dispute resolution.”
The participants were also provided with a tour of the state-of-the-art courtroom by Registrar Mr. Christopher Grout, where he explained the role of the court and demonstrated its technological capabilities.
During the event, Fahad Zainal, QFC’s Advisor to the CEO spoke on the role of the QFC and his experience during the Rising Leader Programme: "As a QLC Rising Leader Programme graduate, I know first-hand the benefits and experience this programme delivers by developing professional, personal and leadership skills. My experience during the programme has provided me with a deep knowledge of techniques that helped fast track my career"
The QLC visit to QFC premises comes as part of the QFC’s continuous efforts to develop human capital as a driver for economic growth and prosperity in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
