The hearing was presided by Christopher Grout, registrar of the court, where the students took part as the claimant and the defendant parties.
Beside the theoretical side, such moot hearing helps the students to understand how court hearing proceedings take place in real court rooms and provide an invaluable opportunity for those who have attended to witness a glimpse of the types of argument which take place during court hearing proceedings.
Speaking after the moot, the registrar of QICDRC, Christopher Grout said: this has been a good demonstration. The unique opportunity afforded to the students to participate in a moot court has resulted in some excellent judicial awareness.”
