The Regulatory Tribunal hears appeals from decisions of the QFC's regulatory bodies and provides an independent, expert forum for resolving regulatory disputes. Its members bring deep specialist knowledge across financial services, corporate governance, and administrative law — ensuring consistent, principled outcomes for businesses operating within the QFC.
As at the end of 2025, the judiciary of the Court and the Regulatory Tribunal comprised 16 judges hailing from a variety of jurisdictions, including Qatar, England and Wales, Australia, Singapore, France, China, India, the USA, Hong Kong, and South Africa, uniquely covering both the common law and civil law traditions (and within the latter, the European civilian tradition, the Qatari civilian tradition, and the Chinese civilian tradition).
• The total value of cases rose from QAR 947 million in 2023 to QAR 1.47 billion in 2024, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 55%.
• 52% fewer cases rejected on jurisdictional grounds compared to 2023.
• 20% increase in judgments issued compared to 2023.
• First 2 judgments from the enforcement division with the Enforcement Judge sitting alone.
Through its supervisory arbitrational jurisdiction under Law No 2 of 2017 issuing the Arbitration Law in Civil and Commercial Matters, parties can elect the QICDRC as the “Competent Court” of arbitration to perform various functions in relation to interim measures, enforcement of awards and appeals.
