Background
"Legal clinics," as per the US terminology, or "law centres," in alignment with the UK terminology, carry a rich history spanning decades. The standard model involves the clinic or centre facilitating contact between members of the public and highly skilled professional lawyers, offering advice and assistance to those unable to afford such services.
This is the model that the QICDRC will adopt. We are fortunate to have an exceptional list of Panel Law Firms (see below) who have committed to partnering with the QICDRC Legal Clinic. The QICDRC will serve as a conduit, connecting members of the public with Panel Law Firms, who will subsequently handle the pro bono engagement under the QICDRC Legal Clinic Terms and Conditions.
Prospective applicants must carefully read the Terms and Conditions prior to applying for assistance under this scheme (the 'Scheme'). They must also pay close attention to the respective roles of the QICDRC and the Panel Law Firms under the Scheme.
